What initially seemed like a cool opportunity quickly became a defining experience for me. It taught me that film was the right career path for me, combining everything I love: people, the pace and demands of production, active work, and cameras. A sincere thank you to to Ms. Sustar, my ICT SHSM teacher and mentor, for the role she played in that journey.
By the summer of 2023, I knew I wanted to enroll in Algonquin College's Film & Media Production program. Before graduating, though, I wanted to make my final year of high school count. I pushed myself to work as hard as I could, serving a second year as the Co-President of the school's Student Council while also taking on a large personal film project. That work paid off, earning me the Barbara & Suddy Ashfield Award for a Well-Rounded Student, The Governor General's Academic Medal, the school's Communications Technology Award, and the 2023-2024 Student Recognition Award at Ottawa Technical Secondary School.
Since starting the Film & Media Production program, my life has changed in meaningful ways. I've met incredible people, worked on stellar projects, and grown both creatively and professionally. As I near the completion of the program in June, I'm excited to keep building experience and see what I'll help create next.

For much of my life, I've seen the world differently, and over time I've come to value that. Being neurodivergent and growing up in an LGBTQ+ family has shaped how I understand people, identity, and inclusion. What once felt like being "weird" has become one of my greatest strengths, and it has influenced how I think, create, and work with others. These perspectives are ones I truly believe can make professional spaces stronger.
Video storytelling has always been an interest of mine. Before high school, I had already spent years experimenting with cameras and building a YouTube channel that grew to over 5,000 subscribers. That early passion for creating led me to a major turning point in February 2023, where I had the opportunity through my school's Information and Communications Technology Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program to help create three-minute dance films at Earl of March Secondary School.

My name is Wolfgang Kluchert, and I was born here in Ottawa. I've always loved technology, music, dance, and most importantly, helping others.
I've always wanted to create, but collaborative work is where I truly shine. I do best when combining my skills, attention to detail, and work ethic with the strengths of others to bring ideas to the screen.
I'm also someone who pays close attention what's happening around me. On set, that means being reliable in my role while still being aware of how I can appropriately step up and support others when needed.
